Understanding Intra-individual “Genetic Response”
Understanding Intra-individual “Genetic Response”
If you look at any study that is designed to review ” dosage response ” .. across the full spectrum of studies from Training Studies on Naturals to dosage response on PEDs you will always see a degree of individual response to the same inputs, always..
Let’s go so far to say you will never ever see a large group of randomly chosen individuals that all respond exactly the same.. period.
This is universally true.
Below I offer 3 studies
Figure 1 is a study on Natural Trainers showing the degree of variation from exactly the same training stimulus under controlled conditions.
Note the degree of variation here from “non-responsder” to ” wow, holly **** wow”, who the hell was that guy ? haha
Importantly you should not ” compare” yourself to either end of the bell curve.. its enough here to understand those guys do exist.
Fiqure 2 shows the IGF-1 response to exactly the same dosage of rHGH under clinical conditions.. This is an eye-watering 0.3IU/kg of rHGH a day.. ( 30 IU a day for me ) the red bars show how far the range of response to the dosage was over the individuals tested.
Fiqure 3 shows the increase in Muscle Cross-Sectional Area for Men given graded dosages of Testosterone.. ie ” Growth”
Here you you can see here one man given just 125mg a week of Testosterone saw more ” Cross Section Area Growth” than the average of the guys on 300mg a week
Hell he even saw equal or more growth than 3 of the guys on 600mg a week ! 4 .8 times as much as he got !
If you are unable to look at these studies and acknowledge the simple fact that over a group of individuals there are always going to be outliers both in terms of a positive response to a training input and a pharmacological one I am not sure you can ever be “ reasoned” with from an evidence base.
The idea of a “ wide range of responses” from individuals is simply universally understood in applied science.
Its not a coincidence that most high-level professionals in any sport are the “outliers” to genetic response to training stimulus .. haha
and I am sorry but if you are struggling with the idea that a ” few” guys just got the best cards.. that they respond in ways that mere mortals dont to exactly the same inputs, all I can really suggest here is you spend some time understanding the idea of ” interindividual genetic response to stimulus” .. this is not “opinion”
Indeed its the very reason we don’t run studies on one man.. for n = 1 does not mean anything… literally due to this very reason, we need to see the ” average” over a group of individuals just in case we chanced upon the non-responder or the hyper responder in our selection of ” one man” for the study..
This is ultimately a game of genetics.. and yes most ” sports” are..
If you are like me.. ” Mr Average” for I am neither blessed nor cursed.. ” hard work” buys you a ticket to the game, 100 percent that is ” why” I am here… I know what I am doing and I work hard..
And a hard-working Man with average Genetics will always be able to beat a lazy Man with great genetics, but once the gifted individual steps up and like in these studies he does what I do, follows me ” step for step”… I get left behind..
All you can really do is focus on your own game.. and accept.. this is ultimately a game of genetics..
Be the best version of you..
